Competitions
When riders have been taking lessons regularly, they may develop an interest in entry-level competitions. These competitions are called Academy shows. Academy riders typically show stable owned horses and do not own their own horse yet. Academy shows are a great opportunity for riders to learn how to compete at shows and see if showing horses is right for them.
Academy shows offer classes for riders at all skill levels and typically include the following:
- Lead-line (Rider competes with a handler walking along side rider)
- Walk-trot only
- Walk-trot-canter
- *575.00 if two riders share a horse/ $700.00 single rider per horse/ per academy show. Pleasure show prices vary buy are typically around $1000.00 two day show and $1500.00.. This includes show day care, trailer, and stall fees. Class fees are not included. This does not include memberships or additional fees.
